Iris
A wonderful and diverse group of plants with flowers in virtually every color of the rainbow. Few gardens would be complete without some representation of Iris. Matrona is considered to be one the best Sedums introduced in years. The name Matrona comes from a German word ‘matrone’ – which means “lady of well-rounded form’. The name alludes to the robust nature of this fine sedum. It is a very sturdy, upright grower with grey-purple, succulent leaves and pinkish-purple stems. The foliage alone is outstanding but to top it off Matrona sports large, beautiful mauve-pink blooms in late summer that continue to open up throughout most of autumn.
