Echinacea Ruby Giant
Echinacea (Coneflower) ek-in-AY-shah
Vigorous summer-flowering perennial. Prefers well-drained soil. Good in borders and natural plantings. Daisy flowers have slightly reflexed ray petals and raised central discs. Some spent blooms should be left on the plants in fall because their seeds provide winter food for finches and other birds.
New Ruby Giant:
Zone 4 Height: 20”/Spread: 24 Bloom Time: June-September
Absolutely huge 7-inch ruby pink blooms, with petals that occur in a double row and remain flat and do not droop like other Echinacea. Blooms are long lasting and abundant, sitting atop sturdy branched stems and provide color from early summer into fall. The central cone is coppery-orange and flattened.
