Description
Mimulus (Monkey Flower) MIM-yuh-luhs
Called monkey flowers for their unusual, snapdragon-type faces, mimulus species are native to the Pacific states. Although their height in the wild ranges from a few inches to several feet, most garden hybrids are low-growing annuals, 8 to 10 inches tall. They bloom cheerfully in bright shade, and can even tolerate soggy soil where other flowers won’t grow. The soil should be moist as the plants like to grow in wet ground. Avoid high temperatures and drying out in drought periods.
